Decanting Wine

I’m sure you’ve heard of the term ‘open up’ when talking about when. But what does it exactly mean?   What is decanting? It is a way of getting more flavour and aromas out of your wine, allowing some air to get to the liquid in the process of pouring from the wine bottle to your decanter.   Should you decant your wine before you drink it? Most wines benefit from decanting which allows them to ‘open up’ or ‘aerate’.   Which wines can you decanter? Complex whites Red wines Mature reds
